"Force" is an effort to dismantle and discard old patterns that have become obsolete and to update these patterns. Force, or strength, is a movement built to confront oneself. The role of force here is reflective behavior. These patterns can be seen as understandings, thoughts, and behavior that are buried within oneself. The foundation of this creation is the traumatic experiences that I have endured. Trauma serves as the starting point to make peace with traumatic experiences and to create a new and better path. These personal experiences are noted as stages of self-healing. In the process of creating this work, I depict the old patterns (lines, textures) and then attempt to dismantle them by creating patterns with tracing paper, making blocks (boxes), chiseling with sharp objects (knife/sharp pencil), and updating by creating new pathways. I use war symbols, one of which is a soldier. Like the lines that are chiseled with sharp objects that I refer to as "soldiers," they move within me as if they are fighting and confronting buried traumatic events. The lines/chisels that move like a gathering formation represent a strategy symbol to face the enemy (trauma).
